Rhythm of Nature
Concept
Brief Introduction
This is an audio-based video that embodies the rhythm of nature, revealing environmental problems at the same time. It starts with hope and variety but ends with loneliness and vague. Nature is heavily harmed and may eventually destructed like being washed away by the water.
This project is for the projection to Caliza which is a pile of buildings in Digital Graffiti.
And I used the feature of sound waves to create a series of visuals by Touch Designer to visualize rhythm.
Design
Process
First, I use a copyright free photo or video of nature as the base data which has features such as the pixels of colors and map the features of sound wave signals to the picture data such as the displacement of pixels on depth.
Secondly, I output the videos and edit on After Effects. The visuals in Touch Designer change in sync with the audio, but since human's eye and ear process signals differently, people don't think they are in sync. So I have to manually sync it in AE. To create diverse visual effects, I blended multiple different videos.
