Grow up
Concept
Brief Introduction
The process of growing up starts with the birth of children. And as children, people are mostly innocent and always curious to the world. When people grow up they might experience a good feeling to someone but also encounter obstacles. When they finally overcome the obstacles and deal with their feelings, they have grown up. But most of the time as I observed, the worst thing is to become a boring adult so I hope I can still be enthusiastic to the world and explore more.
Design
Brainstorm
Emotions are abstract so I mainly focus on the use of color and creation of atmosphere rather than the shape and space. So, pencil-like texture is used to make the frames soft, which could also add details to the frames. For positive part, I tend to use multiple and vivid colors while using monotone and dark color for frastrated part. And the calmness is also monotone but low satuaration and high brightness.
Sound
Process
To save time, I used simple graphics to go through the motions first. Then, I output it as video and open in Photoshop to create frame sequence in order to put it to procreate and trace it over with specific brushes. When tracing, I added some compression and tension manually to make it more vivid.
